You are right. GTAGSTHROUGH can be replaced with it.
I will put GLOBAL_OPTIONS into the TODO list.
(GTAGSTHROUGH might be deprecated in the future.)

If it is needed, how about --nocolor option.

        $ global -x --color main -r ... --nocolor

The --color set a flag ON and the --nocolor set the flag OFF.
However, I would like to think of it after using the --color option for a while.
