We're on a cvs snapshot from 2001-09-30.

Only cvs libtool supports C++ at all, but unfortunately I don't think
our snapshot knows about C++ shared libraries on MacOS.

We'd wondered that, but I really don't know much about MacOS, and
libtool.m4 is horribly complicated, so I'd thought to leave it until
libtool catches up.
