If you find the libgmp.sl and run
file libgmp.sl
it should say something like "PA-RISC1.1 shared library -not
stripped". Or "2.0" if it's the troublesome 64-bit.
Don't forget to do a "make install" to put the gmp stuff in the right
places, hopefully where perl can find it.
And you'll want to check you're not hitting some other version of
libgmp.sl or gmp.h. There's probably compiler options to make it say
where it's looking and what it finds, but I don't remember off-hand.
