You misunderstand me.  I think that different technology/policy
*is* a fork, and I am totally opposed to it.  We should unify, as
a single community, and build what we need.  That is what I have
wanted all along.  Whatever it takes to get that, I am in favor of.

It seems like the best way to achieve that is to get everyone on board
building the same thing.  What that means is giving you guys
everything you need to get started.  We will work to build something
entirely new, and if we find anything useful in the existing codebase,
we can keep it -- if not, we can throw it out.  It's that simple.

There is no valid reason for a fork.  We can all work together.
