So do I. There is a place for Nupedia, and a pressing need for it. I
wish it all success, I may even volunteer to write the odd entry if
Jimmy will let me :-)) But it's not what I signed up for, or where I
imagined GNUpedia would aim to go.

I believe strongly in freedom of speech (though Mike may not believe
me... ;-) and for me, the opportunity to be heard is as important as
the opportunity to hear. That's my motivation for getting involved in
GNE, and it's the difference between Nupedia and GNE that I value most.
Not everyone is an expert on a particular subject, or has had 3 years
to study a subject in detail, but many people still have a contribution
to make that can illuminate that subject. GNE gave people that
possibility in a way that formal academic encyclopedias don't, and to
lose it now would be a crying shame.
