Generally, new users do have to take some

time learning how inventories work and what

you describe sounds like a slightly unsual

variation on a mistake that new users often

make once or twice and then get the hang of.

You haven't suggested any specific change here,

though. Did you have one in mind?

Summary: Import refuses to import things added with tla add

Original Submission: While importing a tree I used 'tla add' for all files.
With 'tla import' I kept getting errors on files I did not add, but which were
sources, so I started editing the =tagging-method file.

I made the mistake (after some frustration) to make the 'backup' rule
completely empty (so _all_ files were backup)
My reasoning for this was that files that were explicitly added were immume
from regular expressions.

After a successfull tla import I noticed that absolutely no files were actually
imported, which seems very wrong to me.

On a seperate note; I could only import one time, so this failure was
non-recoverable. So far for tla import attempt number 10...

I managed to get my files into tla, thanx, but your answer does not cover the
problem that reg-expes are 'stonger' then manually added IDs.

Even if that is covered in the tutorial, its so counter intuitive that I think
its a bug.

you can only import once; but you can commit thereafter to correc the situation.

A suggestion, use tla inventory -s before importing, to ensure that you have
the regexes the way you want them. IIRC this is covered in the tutorial.
