In help it doesn't mention what happens when one hits c-k in a read
only buffer. The bell rings and we feel bad, but don't know that all [?]
these years it indeed was adding to the kill ring and I didn't have to
do the finger numbing sequence of cautiously marking a region and ESC
w on it, etc. Wait, C-w does the same... Wait, the C-w help page has
it documented. C-k doesn't! And all these years I was doing it the
hard way.
I didn't check if info has it documented.
