To us end users, C-x 2 used to be the only resizing one could do on a
terminal, now there's also X windows style resizing, but to me they
are all resizing.

All I know is that C-v in fundamental mode is the usual way to see the
next screen, and that we can also use SPC if in view-mode. C-x 2 C-v
does what I expect, C-x 2 SPC doesn't.
Scrolling in compile-mode with C-x 2 SPC , C-x 1 SPC
is window size-aware. It would seem less than ideal that view-mode
and compile-mode's SPC should act differently.
