I thought some more and it and I think this is a great idea.
It makes it possible to keep clicking your way to the file you
want to open, instead of being forced to use the keyboard
which is rather inconvenient for an operation selected from a menu.

Of course, it should only be used if the toolkit doesn't have
a file-selection widget.
