Of course. It probably shouldn't even be an option, especially as you
then have to explain to users something maintainers have been having
trouble with. I've had enough of arguing this, but at least it should
now be clear that it actually can be implemented.
Other people who want this might lobby for it. If it's somehow
dangerous, there must be test cases I haven't seen.
