In Elisp hardcopy manual edition 2.5 (May 98), in chapter 13, section
13.4.4 Type Keywords, no mention is made of the the :validate keyword
although it *is* implemented in emacs 20.6
If you want to do more elaborate customize stuff, I find the :validate
mechanism rather indispensible.
