and the precise symptoms of the bug:


A rather small thing which I never understand:

I have transient-mark-mode enabled. When I call narrow-to-region
interactively, shouldn't this function deactivate mark? I don't see
much sense in that it leaves the mark active so that the complete
narrowed region I am working on is highlighted.
