underscore dissapears in modeline

Hi,

I've noticed that file names containing an underscore (e.g. _emacs in 
Win32) looks strange when displayed in the mode line. With the default 
settings the underscores are litterally invisible, since they coincide with 
the lower shadowed part of the mode line (when displayed as a raised box). 
Increasing the hight of the mode line is no solution since it increases the 
font size too (I'm using the default Courier font).

One way to fix this would be to make Emacs not to use a raised box, but 
even then the underscores are allmost below the mode line.

Has anyone noticed the problem?
