If you define a function which starts like this:

(defun my-function ()
  "This is my function.

And this is dired-mode-map:

\\{dired-mode-map}."
  (message "hello"))

ie. with a \\{some-map} in the last line of the documentation, then
trying to describe-function on that function causes Emacs to enter an
infinite loop in help-make-xrefs, in help.el.

The loop condition is based on (not (looking-at "\n\\s-*\n")) - ie. it
expects the keymap to be followed by a line of just whitespace,
followed by a newline. If the keymap is the last thing in the
documentation of the function then the looking-at is never satisfied.

Chris.
