emacs (cvs) doesn't build

Hi,

I have no luck in building the cvs-version of emacs.
I've tried


CFLAGS="-O3 -march=i686" ./configure --prefix=/usr/local \
  --with-jpeg --with-tiff --with-gif --with-png --with-x

make bootstrap


but I always get
./temacs --batch --load loadup bootstrap

What am I missing?
