Help in building emacs 21.3 on Linux platform

I encountered the following error in building
emacs-21.3 on Fedora Linux.

I have :
. downloaded emacs-21.3.targ.gz,
. extracted the directory emacs-21.3,
. invoked ./configure
. executed a make

then I saw the following message on the terminal:

...
Finding pointers to doc strings...done
Wrote
/home/hwan/project/emacs-21.3/lib-src/fns-21.3.1.el
Dumping under names emacs and emacs-21.3.1
make[1]: *** [emacs] Segmentation fault
make[1]: *** Deleting file `emacs'
make[1]: Leaving directory
`/home/hwan/project/emacs-21.3/src'
make: *** [src] Error 2


Thanks in advance for any pointer on resolving this
problem.
