Unable to determine the face of a popup

A popup occurs correctly.  What is it's face?
I have been told that the face is tooltip, but no one has given a
method to find out the name.  A confusion on htlp-gnu-emacs is that
some readers suggested that I put point on the face and type 
C-x =
but I do not see how to put point on the face since it is a popup that
disappears when I move point or the mouse.

If Emacs crashed, and you have the Emacs process in the gdb debugger,
please include the output from the following gdb commands:
    `bt full' and `xbacktrace'.
