In transient-mark-mode, recode-region does not deactivate the mark when
it's finished. Moreover, pressing C-x u afterwards ("undo in region")
will delete the region, multiple presses of C-x u do not recover from
this (only when the region is deactivated).
In GNU Emacs 23.0.60.2 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.12.9)
of 2008-05-08 on debian
