This problem also affects eshell:
cat foo | wc
hangs. As pointed out on the magit bug tracker, the problem was
introduced by this commit:

* sysdep.c (child_setup_tty): Move the non-canonical initialization to
the HAVE_TERMIO where it belongs (bug#6149).
Reverting it fixes magit and eshell.
