bug#7517: 24.0.50; repeated crash under Mac OS X

So I guess VM holds the message in its undecoded (external) format?
If so, it should do this:

                      (format "edit of %s's note re: %s"
                              (decode-coding-string
                                (vm-su-full-name (car vm-message-pointer))
                                SOMETHING)
                              (decode-coding-string
                                (vm-su-subject (car vm-message-pointer))
                                SOMETHING))

Quite what to use for SOMETHING depends on whether VM knows the
encoding of the message.  If it does, it should use that; otherwise
using `undecided' should DTRT in most cases.
