bug#10776: Feature request: undo-able revert

Reverting a buffer discards the undo information -- it could be useful
to have the revert be an undo-able operation to avoid losing work
prior to a revert.  (I have a hack that does this, and it's been an
extremely important part of my workflow for more than 10 years now.)
