  inhibit-redisplay is a variable defined in ‘xdisp.c’.
  Its value is nil

  Documentation:
  Non-nil means don’t actually do any redisplay.
  This is used for internal purposes.
  ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

So I think you needn't bother about that.
