It prompts for the source directory, doesn't it?

Yes, but that's not really a solution. I may not have a copy of the correct version of the source directory on my system, and it may take me some time to figure out where to get it. It might not be available from gnu.org, for example, because the downstream distributor may have modified the Emacs source.
