>completion-in-region--post checks if the point has left the buffer Correction: the region (where the completion is active). To reiterate the point: completion-in-region-mode must stop using persistent markers. It’s literally a bug. I don’t see why it can’t use numerical positions. If there is a legitimate reason, may be it is possible to make markers work differently.
