If `show-paren-mode` is on, `show-paren-when-point-in-periphery` is true and 
the point is anywhere before 'S', the parenthesis at the *end* of the line is 
highlighted. Is this intentional?

If not, the offending line seems to be paren.el:162 here

For some reason if the point "is in the whitespace before the code" the 
parenthesis in `(1- eol-pos)` is categorized.
