It does, but it's weird.  I mean, this pair of return values don't make
sense on any level:

(let ((completion-ignore-case t))
  (try-completion "xyz" '("XyzaD" "XyZabc")))
=> "Xyza"

(let ((completion-ignore-case t))
  (try-completion "xyz" '("XyZbD" "XyZabc")))
=> "xyz"
