bug#53160: 29.0.50; fcitx5 will freeze Emacs with pre-edited text enabled

Thanks.  Some important questions:

  - Does this still happen under emacs -Q?  (You can set manually
    `x-gtk-use-native-input' to t there for testing.)

  - Could this perhaps be related to GC?
