Thanks for looking into this.  I built Emacs (0991e8686cd) and started
with "-Q".  Doing C-x C-f trying to open a .tex file says:

  require: Recursive ‘require’ for feature ‘comp’

in the minibuffer and the file doesn't get loaded.
