The reason I'm looking at this is that relint complained about some parts (repeated match of empty string) and indeed the regexps do look a bit inefficient. Would you mind if I removed some ambiguity from the regexps then? Maybe even simplifying them to "[0-9.]+" and "[0-9a-f:]+" respectively?
