Ok, everything is working fine now. I just did the following command:

$ sudo ldconfig

To solve the PATH problem... Thanks, John Darrington. Maybe I should subscribe in a users mailing list, to report this first and then if there's no solution I can report it here in the bug list.

Thanks for all, really. And sorry for my ignorance.

Regards,

And by the way, I removed before the latest version that comes with the apt-get command, the 3.1 version of spread-sheet-widget 0.3-1.

Thanks John Darrington. I now did the following in the local compiled directory:

$ ./pspp-1.4.1/src/ui/gui/psppire

And it opens the GUI..., apparently. But trying to import some data it didn't import them...

How can I install the latest version of PSPP in the main system? I don't know too much about the linker PATH, how can I test it or fix it?

Regards,

Are you *sure* you are linking against spread-sheet-widget 0.6 ?

I think you must have an earlier version in your linker path.

      Hello. I'm using the following description:
             * Kernel: 5.4.0-47-generic x86_64
       * bits: 64
       * Desktop: Xfce 4.14.2
       * Distro: Ubuntu 20.04.1 LTS (Focal Fossa)
            And I compile pspp-1.4.1 and spread-sheet-widget-0.6. I did configure,       make and make install on both, starting with spread-sheet-widget-0.6 as a       dependency. Then when I finished with PSPP apears the following error
      when I use the command:
            $ psppire
            psppire: symbol lookup error: psppire: undefined symbol: ssw_sheet_try_cut
            Hope that you can help me with this.
