It really depends what one wants.
If it would be saved... I'm sure there will be soon complaints about users
saying:
"Hey! gnubg just changed my default .sgg folder. Without any reason"
(user opening an attached .sgg file from mail program. then changing other
settings in gnubg. then save settings)

So:
Maybe 'create'  a command file?
With all the default paths in it?
/sgg, /mat, /html, /sgg... all 9.
Name that one: Default_Paths.

Then:
File... Open Commands... Default_Paths once would be enough to set all these
paths.

Or:
Even put these paths as default into the program itself?
Same as the /met, /sounds.
(but I don't know if this is suitable for *nix systems).
