Yes, but compared to just drawing a chequer being moved, it's probably
negligible

Don't worry about that - I got a bit curious and this gave me a reason
to start looking at some of the code I'd never looked at before. I'll
wait until you submit the patches.

Everything I've done in the various settings windows has been done by
finding something that worked similarly to the way I wanted and
shamelessly stealing the code. I then tell myself it improves the
cosistency of theappearance ;-)
