It isn't the first time this has caused some confusion. Other users have
hoped it will train them!
I doubt anyone uses the train menu. AFAIK only Joseph is doing training &
he doesn't use GnuBg per se.
I say turn it off. Perhaps have a setting hidden in the Advanced Options to
enable the Train menu.

What if I just remove the gdbm support? That will disable the whole
Training menu except the "Train with TD(0)" item. It solve the problems of
the misunderstanding and confusion, it makes a smaller (I guess)
executable, and and it won't rely on the gdbm dll. I think this is three
good things in just removing one feature. Less is more, isn't it?
