I went to MonteCarlo on saturday and
sunday but I was unable to catch Achim
(he lost his last chance match before
my arrival). Too bad.
Anyway, at least one of the minor gnubg
contributors (me) went till the end
and won (with 2 friends) the team event
on sunday, in a 70+ lineup of teams
(3 5pt matches played at same time by
the 3 members of each team) with all
the big (and small) players (the tournament
was for free, with 1500E and
3 watches for the winning team and,
most of all, it's very funny to play team).
More for the pride than for the prize,
but still ... my friends are speculating we
may call ourselves the "Backgammon
World Champion Team 2007" ... I'm not
sure (5pt matches ?), but ...
