It has been a long time since I installed Tiger, however you should be able to do it via the installer on the Tiger DVD using these instructions:

http://www.freesmug.org/tutorial/X11_10.4

If that doesn;t work you can download the X11 packages here:

http://idt.lcc.gatech.edu/~cmartin9/files/X11Tiger.zip

This zip file contains X11User.pkg  and the SDK. In theory you don’t need the SDK if you are just running X11 apps, so installing just the user portion should be fine.

As I recall with the build of GnuBG you downloaded, just run it like any other Mac Application once installed (The older versions of the packages were better in that regard)

Hello Mike,

I was redirected to you from the MacRumors forum <http://forums.macrumors.com/showthread.php?t=684823> .

I want to use gnubkg, but I'm confused as how to install it. I'm running the latest Tiger OSX, (10.4.11), on my iMac Intel Core Duo.

I've downloaded the GnuBG-intel.dmg file <http://www2.capp-sysware.com/downloads/Tiger/>  that you posted on the gnubg boards, and installed it to my Applications folder.

Now this is where I'm at a loss. I need to also install X11? Well I've never used this before. I have my Tiger Disc and I'm wanting to install the programme called X11 SDX from the xcode tools package, but I'm not sure if this is the right one because I've read about a file called X11User which I can't locate on my Tiger Disc.

So is it X11 SDX that I should be installing? Is this the only thing I need to install from the tools package? Once installed do I just open the gnbg app as I would any other app or is there more to do?
