Hi Bob,

There was a report earlier in the week that may be *related* . Someone who had Gnubg playing against itself at 4 ply checker on the Windows build experienced crashes. I could reproduce it, but only if I used 3D – however 2D/3D didn’t make a difference with the person who identified the original issue.

I have been able to do some tests, and get crashes when analyzing  a 600 move match pretty consistently. This is using 2 eval threads on an AMD/Vista32 system.

4ply seems to be no problem for the Linux(Debian Lenny Stable) version I built (8 eval threads). I tried 2 Eval threads and it still works – never had an analysis crash.

My opinion is that this could be a windows specific bug.

I often do a 4 ply analysis of an entire match. This does not seem to work with the new version. 3 -ply does though.
Anyone else seeing this problem?
