I volunteer to take on this job.  It's something I've been meaning to
do for quite some time.

I suggest that we start with the easier modules first, then work our
way up to strftime and regexp.  The hardest case will be regexp, and
I'm not sure that regexp will ever be merged, but the other ones
should be doable.

Roland, you mentioned a while ago that I should send email to
address@hidden when I want to suggest gnulib changes to be merged
back to glibc.  However, <http://sources.redhat.com/ml/libc-hacker/>
says that libc-hacker is a closed list.  Can you please add
<address@hidden> to the libc-hacker mailing list, or tell me how I can
arrange to do it?  Thanks.
