It's still in use.  I even still have access to such a machine.
Naturally I use GNU tools on it because the native ones are
uninspiring.  It wouldn't bother me personally if GNU dropped support
for Dynix, however.

The UK's largest utility company is also using Dynix in a system which
was written and deployed on new hardware in 1999, so I'm not the only
person in the world who still uses it.  I'm not a big fan of Dynix
myself.  Even if Dynix is based on BSD 4.2, it feels quite SYSV-ish.
