As I thought you, as Mr. Automake :) might want to comment
on my suggestion that automake might someday look in more
than one directory for files required by AC_LIBSOURCES/AC_LIBOBJ.
But then I found a way to work around the problem without
changing automake.

I'm not quite sure what the big deal is either.
I provided a work-around for the gettext-related problem Bruno reported.
