I've tried with the following versions of gcc on x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu:
gcc-3.3 (GCC) 3.3.6 (Debian 1:3.3.6-6)
gcc-3.4 (GCC) 3.4.5 20050605 (prerelease) (Debian 3.4.4-0)
gcc-4.0 (GCC) 4.0.1 20050522 (prerelease) (Debian 4.0.0-9)
and see that warning only with -W.
