The function is just on the edge of being big enough to need papers if
it were to be assigned.

However, from what I understood, the original author works for Red Hat
and so it is already covered, so there is no need for separate papers,
regardless.

So I personally see no reason why you can't proceed.  Maybe Bruno has
other thoughts, of course.
