Where were the conclusions of the discussions with RMS on this topic
made public?

My recollection is that it was a long discussion, and Paul's arguments
were hitting deaf ears for a long time, until finally [1][2][3][4] Brett
understood them and [3][4] promised to talk with RMS about it. Brett has
not written to this list since then. Therefore I don't know the results
of these conversations with RMS after 2007-10-18.
