Ahh, that would work nicely.

My proposal is this:  I will provide an implementation of setproctitle()
which works on Linux/glibc systems, as well as another implementation
which simply does nothing and is suitable for use on any system to
allow programs to compile and execute, even if no one knows how to
implement setproctitle() on those systems.  Then other people can
contribute additional implementations if they wish.

My thought is that this would be a good starting point, and I
suspect that it is much, much, easier to get contributions of
implementations for additional systems than it is to get the first one
in.  I would guess that most people who have existing code containing
calls to setproctitle() would be happier with a do-nothing stub than
they would with linker errors.
