Negative answer, no symbol "if_freenameindex" present in "libc.so.51.0".
Of course the symbols "if_nameindex", "if_nametoindex", and "if_indextoname"
are present. Therefore not even the relaxed demand that Bruno Haible
mentioned is satisfied. "POSIX hin und POSIX her, wen kümmert's?"
