This patch should be reviewed and applied with respect to master rather than 
topic/libposix  (for an eventual master->topic/libposix merge when sufficient 
fixes have accumulated in master to justify it).  I haven't been following this 
discussion closely enough to make a sensible comment in respect of the patch 
itself though.
