I agree libcraft is really ugly.

Could you review the binding ? Do you have use in octave?

I wouldn't recommend trying to follow the style of the Fortran code in
Octave.  That code is mostly imported from other projects that have
not clear maintainer and that aren't typically packaged as separate
libraries.  We just use it as is.  The styles vary and aren't
particularly good examples of anything except perhaps 1970's Fortran
coding practices.
