No issue that I'm aware of.  You wanted to try porting diffutils to my
bootstrap script yourself, since it is "a small package, and a way off
from release" to give yourself a better handle on how it works than
just checking out all the packages I did already and watching ./bootstrap
run to completion. The list of packages I've provided bootstrap.conf files
for already is further back up the thread, along with commentary.

I got stuck on tar, and gave up easily since there are already a good
selection of bootstrap.conf files that I've created for other packages
that are sufficiently different in their characteristics to persuade
myself that I have all the bases covered. Perhaps you were thinking of
that.
