I agree.  This is precisely the setup I have in more than 5 projects
that uses gnulib.

Thank you.  Could you point me towards some project that uses the latest
version of your script?  I couldn't find a link in this thread.  Alas, I
don't have alot of time to work on this, but I'd like to take an early
look to see if there is something I could comment on early...
