The regexprops-generic.texi file starts with:

@c Permission is granted to copy, distribute and/or modify this document
@c under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.3 or
@c any later version published by the Free Software Foundation; with no
@c Invariant Sections, with no Front-Cover Texts, and with no Back-Cover
@c Texts. A copy of the license is included in the ``GNU Free
@c Documentation License'' file as part of this distribution.

I don't see any code in the file. There isn't anything else in the
regexprops-generic module as far as I can tell.

Right. The majority of that code is for CRAY OS which I believe is not
a useful porting target anymore, so we'd might as well rip it out (or
just leave it... but that way it ends up being brought into discussions
like this from time to time).
