Thanks for the quick fixes, Paul.
I've confirmed that with the latest from gnulib,
all of diffutils' "make check" tests pass on sparc/Solaris 10.

Unless someone pipes up with additional bug reports or
suggestions for patches that should be integrated,
I'll make a release some time in the next week or two.
